  62. WhereIsIt? was designed with a single goal in mind - to create an
  63. easy-to-use, but powerful media catalog program, made to make our lives
  64. easier. Familiar and simplified user interface, extensive search
  65. capabilities and archive file support, combined with powerful report
  66. generator and compact, but rich in details database, all that should
  67. bring you the ultimate tool to handle your software collection.

  69. WhereIsIt? is a shareware software. See ORDER.TXT for more information
  70. on how to register this program. Be sure to read carefully the
  71. LICENCE.TXT file before using the program. The unregistered version
  72. imposes some limitations to the user, which are removed by registering
  73. the program. More information about these limitations can be found later
  74. in this document.

  176. MULTI-LANGUAGE SUPPORT
  177. ======================

  179. This program supports selecting one of prepared languages to be used in
  180. program's user interface, and even preparing language files for currently
  181. unsupported languages (read more about this in program's help file).

  183. If, for any reason, you would like to switch back to default English
  184. language,and are unable to do so in program because you can't understand
  185. or correctly display currently selected language, you can run the program
  186. from commandline with this special parameter:

  190. This will effectively run the program with English language, ignoring
  191. current language settings.

  194. UNREGISTERED VERSION LIMITATIONS
  195. ================================
  196.  
  197. Unregistered version of WhereIsIt? has build-in some limitations in
  198. orderto encourage registering this software. All of the following
  199. limitations are removed when program is registered using given serial
  200. number and registration code. For more information on how to register
  201. please read the ORDER.TXT file.
  202.  
  203. - Catalog capacity is limited to total of 2 GB data storage, You will
  204. not be able to add more data in the catalog, if the total sum of all
  205. media capacities in the catalog already exceeds this limit. If you
  206. want to add more data, you will have to open a new catalog.
  207.  
  208. - Only one catalog can be opened at the time. If you would like to work
  209. with another catalog, you must first close the current one.
  210.  
  211. - Auto-loading catalogs on program startup is disabled. Registered users
  212. can setup a list of catalogs to automatically load when program is
  213. starting.

  215. - All reports will include a visible message saying they were generated
  216. with unregistered version.
  217.  
  218. - Tips on program startup can not be disabled in the unregistered
  219. version. The first tip will always remind you that you are working with
  220. an unregistered program.

  264. To install WhereIsIt? on your computer, run the SETUP.EXE file and
  265. follow the on-screen instructions. No additional actions are required.

  271. You can un-install WhereIsIt? from your computer by choosing "Add/Remove
  272. Programs" option in Control Panel, and double-clicking WhereIsIt?'s

  279. Provided with installation package is 40COMUPD.EXE file. This is
  280. Microsoft's update package for COMCTL32.DLL system file, for both
  281. Windows 95/98 and Windows NT. WhereIsIt? needs to have COMCTL32.DLL
  282. updated to version 4.70 or newer to function properly.
  283. Installation program will run this update during program installation,
  284. if neccessary, and normally you can ignore this file entirely. If, by
  285. any chance, COMCTL32.DLL fails to get upgraded during program setup,
  286. you can run the 40COMUPD.EXE file yourself, and reboot computer when
  287. requested.
